Bei den Menschen bekannt als Sharon Valerii, scheint sie nur ein junger Offizier mit vielversprechender Zukunft zu sein. Sie ist Anfangs nur in der kolonialen Flotte anzutreffen, wo sie als Raptor-Pilotin (mit dem Rufnamen "Boomer") mit dem Dienstgrad Lieutenant (junior grade) dient.

Aber Boomer ist ein getarnter zylonischer Agent, ein "Schläfer". Es sind im Laufe der Serie viele Kopien von ihr anzutreffen, u.a. auf dem von Zylonen besetzten Caprica und an Bord des Basissterns über Kobol. Von allen bisher bekannten menschlichen Zylonenmodellen scheint Nummer Acht die stärksten oder aufrichtigsten menschlichen Regungen zu besitzen. Dies könnte der Grund dafür sein, dass dieses Modell häufiger in Konflikte zwischen ihre menschliche und ihre zylonische Persönlichkeit gerät, als andere Zylonen. Möglicherweise sind diese verstärkt menschlichen Verhaltensweisen und auch der feste Glaube, ein Mensch zu sein, die Hauptcharakteristika der "höheren" Modellnummern.

Eine andere Kopie von Nummer Acht wird von den Zylonen in einem Farm-Experiment mit Lieutenant Karl "Helo" Agathon auf dem besetzten Caprica benutzt, wo sie sich schließlich in Helo verliebt und sich offenbar auf die Seite der Menschen schlägt und sich gegen die Zylonen stellt. Kurz nachdem der Angriff der Zylonen auf die Kolonien beendet wurde, hilft eine Kopie bei der Wiedergeburt von Caprica-Sechs

Am Ende der Miniserie führt eine Nummer Acht-Kopie, gekleidet in eine Pilotenuniform, eine Gruppe von Zylonen an, die Aaron Doral von der Station Ragnar abholen.
- Möglicherweise handelt es sich dabei auch um das Caprica-Modell.
Eine Kopie in grauer Kleidung wird von Karl Agathon am Delphi Raumhafen beobachtet und erschoßen.
Mehrere Kopien befanden sich auf dem zylonischen Basisstern über Kobol und wurden zusammen mit dem Basisstern vernichtet. Möglicherweise war ein von ihnen übermitteltes Programm verantwortlich dafür, dass die Galactica-Kopie nach der Rückkehr auf die Galactica auf Commander Adama schoß.
Eine Kopie wird am Ende von "Final Cut" gezeigt, wie sie zusammen mit anderen Zylonen die Übertragung einer Fernsehreportage ansieht. Überrascht stellt sie fest, dass die Caprica-Kopie noch intakt ist.

Anmerkungen

Keine Kopie von Nummer Acht spricht ihre Liebhaber mit dem Vornamen an. Die Galactica-Kopie Sharon Valerii nennt Galen Tyrol immer "Chief", sogar als sie in seinen Armen stirbt. Grund dafür war die Befürchtung, dass die erste Nennung von Tyrols Vornamen in dieser Szene zu sehr von der Dramatik ihres Todes ablenken würde. Auch die Caprica-Kopie spricht bislang nur von "Helo".
In einem Interview mit thefandom.com stellte Ron D. Moore klar, dass es keine original Sharon gab. Kein menschliches Modell, dass die Zylonen nachempfunden haben. Alle Zylonenmodelle entstanden aus den zylonischen Studien der menschlichen Natur. Die Idee dahinter war, dass die Zylonen nach eingehender Untersuchung zu dem Schluß kamen, dass die menschliche Natur von 12 verschiedenen Modellen in ihrer Gänze dargestellt werden könnten.
