My Triumphs, My Mistakes: Ein zerlesenes Exemplar von Baltars Buch auf dem Hangardeck (Streik!)

"Meine Triumphe, meine Fehler" ist ein von Gaius Baltar während seiner Haft auf der Galactica geschriebenes Manifest; er erzählt darin seine Lebensgeschichte und schreibt über die "Unterdrückung der Arbeiterklasse" der Zwölf Kolonien durch die "Aristokratie", insbesondere die Elite aus Caprica. Die bisherigen im Umlauf befindlichen Seiten des Buches wurden von Baltars Anwalt Alan Hughes aus seiner Zelle geschmuggelt und in der Flotte verteilt ("Streik!", "Berufung"). Das Buch ist jedoch noch nicht fertig, als Baltar einige neue Seiten einem Wachsoldaten der Galactica aushändigt, um die von Präsidentin Laura Roslin angedrohte Leibesvisitation zu vermeiden.^[1]

In der Flotte ist das Manifest bekannt als "Das Buch"; ein Exemplar zirkuliert auf Galacticas Flugdeck. Es nährt die schon vorhandene Unzufriedenheit der Arbeiter der Flotte, die schließlich in einen Streik der Mannschaft des Raffinerieschiffs Hitei Kan und der Deckhelfer mündet.

PräsidentinRoslin versucht zunächst die Verbreitung des Buchs zu verhindern, benutzt es aber später, um den Streit mit den Arbeitern beizulegen (Streik!).

Baltar erzählt Tyrol, dass dem Leser am Ende des Buches eine Frage gestellt wird, ob er denkt, dass die Flotte jemals von einem kommandiert wird, dessen Namen nicht Adama ist (Streik!).
