Frühes Leben
Amanda Graystone lebt auf Caprica lebt, geboren wurde sie aber auf einer anderen Kolonie (Know Thy Enemy).
Amanda erlebte in ihrer frühen Kindheit eine Tragödie, als ihr Bruder Darius bei einem Autounfall ums Leben kam. Der resultierende Nervenzusammenbruch und Selbstmordversuch führte zu einem Aufenthalt im Delphi Convalescent Institut, wo sie bis zu ihrer Erholung zweieinhalb Jahre verbrachte ("The Imperfections of Memory", "End of Line").
Als sie den jungen Daniel Graystone trifft, beschreibt sie sich selbst als "verrückt". Daniel erweist sich für sie als Quelle emotionaler Stabilität. Während ihrer Ehe, wird Amanda unerwartet mit ihrer einzige Tochter, Zoe, schwanger. Die Schwangerschaft kommt zu einem ungünstigen Zeitpunkt, da Amanda gerade auf den Aufbau ihrer medizinischen Praxis ausgerichtet ist.
